We’re delighted to welcome Chef Max Kamakura as the newest resident chef at The Burrow, where he will host a monthly Chef Takeover exploring the artistry, culture, and storytelling behind his cuisine.

Coming from a renowned lineage of sushi chefs in Brazil, Chef Max Kamakura has spent more than two decades refining a culinary voice shaped by Japanese tradition, Brazilian culture, and global exploration. After beginning his journey in his family’s sushi restaurant at just fifteen years old, a life-changing accident led him to immerse himself in Indigenous communities in Northern Brazil, where he studied native ingredients, ancestral techniques, and a profound connection between nature and food—experiences that continue to define his cooking today.

Each Chef Takeover will be a unique opportunity to experience Chef Kamakura’s evolving culinary vision in the intimate setting of The Burrow.
