The Burrow Session No 18. - César Orozco & SonAhead
Some traditions are preserved. Others are reimagined.
2025 Latin Grammy Award winner César Orozco is one of the most versatile voices in contemporary Latin music—a pianist, vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer whose career has taken him from Cuba and Venezuela to some of the world’s most celebrated stages. Having collaborated with artists including Paquito D’Rivera, Pedrito Martinez, Mike Stern, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Tony Succar, Orozco now serves as pianist and sub-conductor for the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Buena Vista Social Club.
With SonAhead, Orozco returns to his Cuban roots, blending the timeless traditions of Cuban son with the energy of timba, the freedom of modern jazz, and contemporary influences to create a sound that is both deeply rooted and unmistakably forward-looking. Leading the ensemble not only from the piano but also as its vocalist, he presents a vibrant musical conversation that celebrates heritage while embracing innovation.
An evening where rhythm, improvisation, and storytelling come together in a performance that honors the past while looking confidently toward the future.
Ticket price includes unlimited house cocktails, wine, bubbles and spirits. Full bar and light bites available for purchase.
Door opens at 8 PM, show starts promptly at 9 PM. Seating is assigned on a first come, first serve basis and aligned to the social nature of our salon, you may be requested to share your table with other guests.
